The Phrozen Sonic Mini 8KS is a compact desktop resin 3D printer designed for hobbyists, miniature painters, sculptors, and designers who need excellent print clarity and consistent detail without occupying a large workspace. It is the refreshed successor to the original Sonic Mini 8K, carrying a meaningfully upgraded LCD panel that improves on the original in three specific ways: greater heat resistance for longer operational stability, a higher contrast ratio for sharper and more defined print output, and improved long term image stability that reduces the risk of panel degradation over time.
The 7.1 inch 8K monochrome LCD delivers crisp edges and well-defined surface detail across the build area. For the applications this printer is designed for — tabletop miniatures, character sculpts, jewellery-style models, and small detailed prototypes — the resolution is well suited to capturing fine features that would be lost on lower resolution panels. I’ve tested plenty of resins in the past, but Resione Tough74 v2 is on a completely different level. The material properties are incredible - it’s the perfect balance of rigidity and toughness. I’m using it for articulated garage resin kits, and the results are flawless. If you are tired of brittle prints and want something that actually feels like a manufactured product, this is it!
I have used the Phrozen 8K resin before, so I know how good a product it is. Delivery was fast. Sadly, whoever delivered it left it in the foyer of my apartment building without even buzzing me. Nothing to do with 3D cast but I hate to think what would have happened if a kid had got their hands on it.

I switched to this because isopropyl was stinking up the house from the garage. This has a nice lemon smell, cleans well, doesn't make my eyes burn from the fumes and didn't get cloudy after the first use. It did kick up the VOC readings the same as isopropyl, but didn't linger the entire day when I used my air purifier. Great stuff, will buy more.
