The Phrozen Resin Vat for the Sonic Mini 8K and Sonic Mini 8KS is the genuine OEM replacement vat for these 7.1-inch compact MSLA printers, CNC machined from aluminium with an anodised finish. It is a direct fit replacement for the original vat, compatible with the printer's existing frame mount and levelling system on both models.
The resin vat is the structural component that holds liquid resin above the LCD panel during printing. The release film at the vat floor separates each cured layer from the vat base during the lift cycle. The Sonic Mini 8K and Mini 8KS operate at 22 µm native XY resolution, which is among the highest of any consumer resin printer in this format. At that resolution, the flatness and dimensional integrity of the vat directly affects print consistency: a warped or structurally compromised vat changes the gap between the release film and the LCD panel across the build area, producing uneven first layer curing that is difficult to diagnose because it presents as calibration error rather than a vat problem.
Vat replacement is necessary when the aluminium frame is physically damaged, when the FEP film has been punctured or torn beyond what film-only replacement can address, or when the vat's seal has been compromised by a resin leak or chemical damage. It is also the practical solution for a dual-resin workflow: with two vats each dedicated to a specific resin type or colour, switching between resins requires only a vat swap and a build plate clean rather than a full drain, wash, and refill cycle. For users printing regularly across multiple resin types on the Mini 8K or Mini 8KS, a spare vat is the most time-efficient way to manage the changeover.
The vat is CNC machined from aluminium and anodised for long-term resistance to resin and IPA exposure. A designated pouring spout allows controlled resin return to the bottle without spillage. The vat ships with FEP film pre-installed, ready to level and print immediately without sourcing a separate film. It is compatible with all resin types used in the Sonic Mini 8K and Mini 8KS.

I switched to this because isopropyl was stinking up the house from the garage. This has a nice lemon smell, cleans well, doesn't make my eyes burn from the fumes and didn't get cloudy after the first use. It did kick up the VOC readings the same as isopropyl, but didn't linger the entire day when I used my air purifier. Great stuff, will buy more.

Great business to deal with. Recently after a full days work, I placed an order. 3D Cast was on the ball, as the resin I ordered was different to my previous orders, as it turned out I pushed the wrong button, this was my bugger up. But, rather than just send it, they contacted me and asked if this was right and I was able to correct it.
