Phrozen Rigid PC/GF-like Black 3D Printer Resin: Heat Resistant Engineering Resin
Phrozen Rigid PC/GF-like Black is an engineering grade MSLA resin developed to approximate the performance of glass filled polycarbonate, one of the most common engineering plastics used in automotive and electronic component manufacturing. It is formulated for functional prototypes and end use parts where heat resistance, dimensional stability, and durability under repeated handling all matter.
The standout figure on this resin's data sheet is heat deflection temperature. Post cured under UV alone, HDT at 0.45 MPa sits at 65°C. With an additional two hour thermal post cure at 100°C, that climbs to 95°C, pushing this resin into territory more typically associated with true engineering thermoplastics. Tensile modulus follows the same pattern, rising from 2,567 MPa UV only to 3,330 MPa with thermal post cure, and ultimate tensile strength rises from 48.4 MPa to 63 MPa.
Where this resin differs from most rigid engineering resins is elongation at break. At 9.4% in the UV only state, it retains meaningfully more ductility than typical high stiffness resins, dropping to 5.5% after thermal post cure but still ahead of resins optimised purely for rigidity. Combined with a notched Izod impact strength of 39.8 J/m, printed parts carry less risk of brittle failure under sudden load than resins pushed purely for maximum stiffness.
Independent testing in Phrozen's material data sheet also shows strong resistance to industrial fluids. Tensile bars soaked for 7 days in brake fluid, engine oil, hydraulic oil, transmission oil, and a 10% sodium hydroxide solution showed minimal weight change and largely retained mechanical properties, relevant for parts that will see contact with automotive fluids or industrial cleaning agents in service.

Keep it at room temperature in a dark, ventilated space away from direct sunlight. After printing, store used resin in a closed, opaque bottle and don't mix it with new resin. Wear gloves and a mask when handling it, and wash any skin or eye contact with plenty of water.
