Phrozen ABS Like + Gray 3D Printer Resin: Tough Engineering Resin for Functional Prototypes
Phrozen ABS Like + Gray is a tough engineering MSLA resin formulated for engineers, product designers, and hobbyists producing functional prototypes, mechanical housings, brackets, and everyday use parts that require impact resistance and controlled flexibility. It is suited to applications where standard resins are too brittle and fully flexible resins are too soft, occupying the mid-range between rigidity and toughness that ABS-like formulations are specifically designed to fill.
The ABS Like + formulation delivers a tensile strength of 35.8 MPa alongside an elongation at break of 17.7%. These two figures together define the toughness profile: tensile strength means parts resist being pulled apart under load, which matters for brackets, snap fits, and load-bearing clips, while the elongation figure means the resin yields before fracture rather than cracking cleanly at the point of stress. This is the behaviour that makes an ABS-like resin preferable to a high-rigidity engineering resin for components that are assembled by hand or subject to incidental impact. Shore D hardness of 75 to 80 confirms the material is firmly in the rigid range while retaining the flex that distinguishes it from brittle formulations. Tensile modulus of 2,490 MPa, flexural strength of 80 MPa, and notched Izod impact resistance of 66.4 J/m complete the structural profile for general functional part work.
HDT at 0.45 MPa of 57°C provides useful thermal resistance for everyday functional parts used at room temperature and mild warmth. The grey finish provides a neutral mid-tone surface that makes surface imperfections, dimensional variation, and parting lines straightforward to inspect. Parts are ready for primer and paint directly from the build plate with standard surface preparation. Recommended layer height is 30 to 100 µm across all MSLA printer resolutions, with best detail results at 50 µm on 8K and above machines.

Frequently Asked Questions
It's a tough ABS-like engineering MSLA resin for functional prototypes, mechanical housings, brackets, and everyday use parts that need impact resistance and controlled flexibility, occupying the middle ground between rigid engineering resins and fully flexible resins.
It means the cured resin is engineered to behave mechanically like ABS plastic: it yields slightly under impact rather than fracturing cleanly, which is the behaviour that makes ABS the dominant material for mechanical consumer goods.
With a tensile strength of 35.8 MPa and elongation at break of 17.7%, it absorbs impact energy through deformation rather than fracturing at the first sign of stress, unlike more brittle standard or rigid engineering resins.
It works with any MSLA or DLP resin printer at 405 nm. Recommended layer height is 30 to 100 microns, with best detail results at 50 microns on 8K and above machines.
Wash prints in isopropyl alcohol following standard MSLA post-processing, then post-cure under UV light before handling or priming.
Keep it at room temperature in a dark, ventilated space away from direct sunlight. After printing, store used resin in a closed, opaque bottle and don't mix it with new resin. Wear gloves and a mask when handling it, and wash any skin or eye contact with plenty of water.
Unopened bottles can be returned, though you'll cover the return shipping if it's a change of mind. Any defective bottle is covered by a free return and refund. Haven't tried this resin before? Check out our sample bottle range.
