Product Care

Make sure to preserve resin at room temperature. Store in dark and ventilated conditions.
After printing, please keep used resins in a closed & opaque bottle.
Avoid mixing used resin with new resin.
Keep resin away from kids and away from direct sunlight exposure.
Wear gloves and masks when using resins.
If this chemical contacts the skin or eye, wash with plenty of water. DO NOT dump resin.
Please cure it and treat it as general plastic garbage.

Returns

Free returns and refunds on products that have a defect. Returns and refunds (excluding shipping cost) are available on unopen bottles of resin. Customer to pay return cost if due to change of mind. Never tired this resin before? View our sample bottle range.

Description

Phrozen FR940 Flame Retardant Resin: UL 94 V-0 Blue Card Certified Engineering MSLA Resin

Phrozen FR940 is an engineering grade MSLA photopolymer resin with verified UL 94 V-0 flame retardant performance, designed for engineers, electronics prototypers, EV component designers, print service providers, and industrial makers who need functional prototypes that can pass material review without switching printing hardware. It is sold in Australia exclusively through 3D Cast, the official Phrozen distributor.

FR940 is Asia's first photopolymer resin to receive UL 94 V-0 Blue Card recognition from Underwriters Laboratories. The Blue Card is a formal component recognition record, publicly searchable in UL Product iQ under QMTC2.E535425. This is the critical distinction from self-claimed flame retardant resins: the FR940's performance is on file and independently verifiable, which means prototypes produced with it can move through procurement review, customer sign-off, and internal approval without requiring the team to justify the material's credentials. FR940 self-extinguishes within 10 seconds after the flame source is removed, with no dripping and no continued burning, based on UL laboratory testing.

The most common bottleneck in functional electronic prototyping is not print quality. It is completing a sample and then having it stall during review because the material cannot be documented. FR940 solves that specific problem: the same bottle of resin that produces the functional prototype also provides the documentation to advance it through review. Primary applications include electronic housings, PCB covers, power module enclosures, BMS enclosures, connector housings, and automotive component prototypes in proximity to power sources or heat sources.

FR940 is compatible with most 405 nm LCD and MSLA printers, including the full Phrozen range. No dedicated or proprietary printing hardware is required. Mechanical properties are suited to static structural parts: tensile strength of 28.5 MPa, Shore D hardness of 75 to 80, tensile modulus of 1812 MPa, and notched Izod impact resistance of 30.7 J/m. HDT after UV post-cure is 59.8°C at 0.45 MPa. For applications requiring higher heat resistance, an optional thermal post-cure at 80°C for two hours raises HDT to 82.8°C. FR940 is a rigid, brittle material and is not suited to snap-fit geometries, thin flexing walls, or parts subject to repeated deformation. Wall thickness, ribbing, and elimination of sharp internal corners reduce brittle fracture risk in structural applications.

Post-processing: wash with 95% ethanol or Phrozen Wash for 45 to 60 seconds. Do not soak beyond 60 seconds. Rest the part for 30 minutes, then UV cure for 60 minutes. Thermal post-cure at 80°C for two hours is optional and raises HDT to 82.8°C.

Important: UL 94 V-0 Blue Card recognition applies to the material formulation only. Final part compliance must be validated based on actual part geometry, wall thickness, post-processing conditions, and the applicable product standard.

3D Cast is Australia's official Phrozen distributor, stocking FR940 with fast shipping Australia wide and direct technical support.
