Six reasons to choose the Arco

CoreXY motion system, Klipper firmware, HGX direct-drive extruder, 300 x 300 x 300 mm build volume, and a modular upgrade path. Built for users who print functional parts daily.

  • CoreXY separates print head mass from build plate mass. The print head moves in X and Y while the build plate moves only in Z, keeping accelerating mass constant. This allows the Arco to reach 600 mm/s across the full 300 x 300 mm plate without losing dimensional accuracy.
  • The HGX direct-drive extruder uses dual 18 mm gears and produces 9.5 Nm of torque. Grip on the filament is consistent at high speeds, which prevents slipping when printing flexible materials or running at maximum throughput. The all-metal hotend reaches 300 degrees Celsius.
  • Klipper firmware runs on a separate processor rather than the printer control board. Input shaping and pressure advance are configurable for each material and speed combination. This separates the Arco from most consumer FDM printers and gives users direct control over print physics.
  • The heated PEI bed reaches 120 degrees Celsius. PEI surface provides strong adhesion during printing and releases cleanly on cooling without adhesives or clips. The build plate is levelled automatically and monitored throughout each job.
  • Power loss resume, filament runout detection, and print failure monitoring are all built in. Long unattended jobs complete reliably without requiring supervision. This makes the Arco viable for production workflows where downtime is a real cost.
  • The Chroma Kit and PentaShield Enclosure are optional modular additions. Chroma Kit enables 4-channel automated multi-filament printing expandable to 16, each channel with its own drying chamber. PentaShield adds enclosed temperature control, carbon filtration, and noise reduction. Both install without modifying the printer.

KLIPPER FIRMWARE

Klipper runs on a dedicated processor separate from the printer control board. It enables real-time input shaping, pressure advance tuning, and per-material speed profiles. It is the firmware choice of production FDM users because it provides direct control over print physics rather than relying on manufacturer presets.

Filaments designed for the Arco

Phrozen stocks two FDM filaments specifically formulated for the Arco and stocked in Australia by 3D Cast. High Speed PLA is built for throughput at 600 mm/s. Tough PLA is built for functional parts that need to survive handling and load. Both are available in 8 colours at $35 AUD per 1 kg spool.

Phrozen High Speed PLA

Formulated for CoreXY printers at speeds up to 600 mm/s. Tensile strength 55 MPa, dimensional accuracy plus or minus 0.02 mm. Available in 8 colours with identical print settings across the range. Nozzle temperature 190 to 220 degrees C, PEI bed 45 to 60 degrees C.
