Description

Phrozen RPG 3D Printer Resin Sample Bottle: 200g Trial Size for Tabletop Miniatures

The Phrozen RPG 3D Printer Resin Sample Bottle contains 200g of Phrozen RPG Resin, a miniature-optimised MSLA photopolymer formulated specifically for tabletop gaming figures. It is suited to miniature painters, wargame hobbyists, and board game creators who want to test RPG Resin's print quality, surface finish, and mechanical performance on their specific printer before committing to a full 1 kg bottle.

RPG Resin is engineered around the two properties that determine whether a printed miniature survives tabletop use: elongation at break and impact resistance. Standard high-detail resins optimise for resolution at the expense of toughness, producing miniatures that capture fine detail but fracture at thin features like banner poles, weapon tips, and cloaks during assembly or play. RPG Resin addresses this directly with an elongation at break of 25.3 to 30.6% and a notched Izod impact strength of 66.5 to 80.8 J/m. The elongation figure means thin parts flex under stress rather than snapping, and the impact resistance means parts that are knocked off a table or roughly handled are more likely to bounce than break. Shore D hardness of 75 to 80 ensures parts are still rigid enough to hold fine sculptural detail and accept primer directly.

Tensile strength of 16.5 MPa is lower than engineering resins, which is intentional: the formulation trades ultimate strength for toughness, prioritising energy absorption over rigidity. This is the correct trade-off for gaming pieces that will be assembled, painted, based, and picked up hundreds of times. The 200g sample provides sufficient resin to print a representative batch of 28 to 32mm scale miniatures at 30 to 50 µm layer height, which is enough to evaluate surface quality, support removal, painting adhesion, and mechanical behaviour before purchasing in full size. HDT at 0.45 MPa is 48.9 to 56.6°C, which is adequate for painted display and gaming use at room temperature.
