Description

Phrozen Tough 100E 3D Printer Resin Sample Bottle: 200g Trial Size for Flexible Functional Parts

The Phrozen Tough 100E 3D Printer Resin Sample Bottle contains 200g of Tough 100E, an engineering MSLA photopolymer resin designed for engineers and product designers who need functional parts with high elongation at break. It is suited to anyone evaluating Tough 100E for living hinges, snap-fit assemblies, flexible clips, jigs, fixtures, and rapid tooling applications before purchasing a full 1 kg bottle.

The defining specification of Tough 100E is its elongation at break of 100.5%. Standard photopolymer resins typically achieve between 2 and 10% elongation before fracture. At 100.5%, a Tough 100E part can stretch to double its resting length before failing, which is the mechanical basis for living hinges and snap-fit clips that must cycle through repeated flexion without fatigue cracking. Tensile strength of 24.6 MPa is moderate, which is the correct balance for this resin type: it resists load while retaining the ductility that enables flex. Shore D hardness of 69 to 76 confirms the resin is semi-rigid rather than soft, maintaining dimensional stability in static conditions while yielding under applied flex loads. Impact strength of 77.3 J/m means parts withstand physical handling and installation stresses without brittle failure.

Phrozen describes the mechanical profile as polypropylene-like, which is an accurate characterisation for rapid tooling purposes. Parts that simulate the behaviour of injection-moulded polypropylene components, including squeeze bottles, living hinge lids, flexible retaining clips, and protective covers, can be prototyped and mechanically tested with Tough 100E before committing to tooling. The 200g sample provides sufficient material to print and test living hinge and snap-fit designs at recommended layer heights, with enough volume for multiple iterations. HDT at 0.45 MPa is 52.7°C, which suits indoor functional applications but not high-temperature environments.
